Movie Review - BruceLee(Telugu)

If you are a mega family fan, it is not difficult for you to understand that this film BruceLee( with tag line The Fighter) has shades of yesteryear's Chiranjeevi's successful movie Vijetha. The 155 minutes movie doesn't bore the audience except in one or two scenes.
Story, screenplay and direction by Srinu Vaitla is above his own benchmark. The screenplay runs in an unpredictable manner which is the highlight of the film. As usual the Director is too fascinated with police and 'undercover' operations. After a long time, we have a song with rich literature in Telugu films especially the first one "run, life ante raceura, run".
Hero Ram Charan Tej as Karthik alias Bruce Lee is extraordinary in his dances and fights. It would not be an exaggeration if we said that in some fight sequences, he was almost resembling the legendary BruceLee especially with the hairdo and movements. He is definitely a tough competition to Allu Arjun in dances. The popular veena step of Chiranjeevi seems to be the inspiration for flute step of Ram Charan in the fourth song "ley chalo" which was shot in beautiful location. The third song "mega mega...."is too good to watch just as the fourth and the fifth( Le Le BruceLee...). It was so refreshing to watch heroine Rakul Preet Singh as Riya. She carried herself very confidently and beautifully. She matched well in her dances with Ram Charan.
Selection of actors for each of the roles is the most important aspect of a director's role and we should agree that Srinu Vaitla has done a perfect job as all the actors fitted well in their characters. Sampath as Jayaraj, Nadiya as his wife Vasundhara, Rao Ramesh as hero's father Ramachandra Rao, Kriti Kharbanda as hero's elder sister Kavya, Arun Vijay as Deepak Raj, Mukesh Rishi as IB Chief have all carried their roles with ease. Jayaprakash Reddy's dual role as dangerous David and police officer is hilarious especially due to his diction and expressions. Comedy by Brahmanandam as Suzuki Subramaniam alias pakodi, Saptagiri and Posani Krishna Murali are enjoyable. Though Ali was there just for a few minutes, he generated some fun. Vennela Kishore too did his bit as Uganda Yugandhar.
Chiranjeevi's entry in the climax was good but he didn't appear to be carrying in his usual style probably due to the long gap he has with the films. For his 150th film, he must definitely tone down his body a bit, else his fans may be disappointed.
Music by S.S.Thaman is good and entertaining.
Overall the film is enjoyable. I would give ***1/2 stars for this movie.
