Why Rahul Gandhi is Right in Taking Leave

Image
Taking time-off to introspect is good for him and his party There is too much unfair and unnecessary speculation on Rahul Gandhi’s ‘leave of absence’ by the media, opposition parties and Rahul’s own party Congress for which he is the Vice President. Unfair and Unnecessary It is unfair and unnecessary because even if he had gone on leave without informing or making it public, the same forces would have made a bigger noise and wild, unimaginable guesses on his absence. The question would arise as to why he had to inform now when he had not done so earlier. For all the troubles that the country’s grand old party is going through with the recent rout in general elections and the last Delhi Assembly Elections where it scored a zero, it is not easy for a leader of the stature of Rahul Gandhi to withstand such a loss and understand the real reasons behind the debacles hitting the party one after the other. Congress is not only a party that gave great leaders to the country but als

Movie Review – TEMPER (Telugu)

For the first time, I have seen that the hall was packed to complete capacity with people occupying each seat from the last row A to front row N.  This is another run-of-the-mill cop film from Director Puri Jagannath, the story for which is provided by Vakkantham Vamsi. The hero Daya (played by Jr.NTR) grows up as an orphan and becomes a SI who is projected as very corrupt and bad in the first part and then the turn of events change him for good in the second part. The first part of the film feels as if we have already spent too much time in the movie hall. To project that Daya is a powerful police, the Director preferred to show bits from the movies of late NTR, Harikrishna and Balakrishna. (How long would Jr.NTR need such invocation in every film, only the hero should be able to say). The first half of the film is not the way his fans would like to see him on the screen but he made up for it in the second half with his touching action in a few scenes in the court and dance in the

Why security for leaders with criminal records?

By refusing to take Z+ security cover (as he did last time),   ‪ Arvind Kejriwal   is setting a new direction for governments in India. It would be worthwhile to know how much of the taxpayers' money is spent by our ‪  Central ‪ government   and various   ‪ state   governments on security for our   ‪ Ministers , ‪‎  MPs ,   ‪‎ MLAs   and other so called 'VIPs'. In the first place why do all of them need such security cover? Are they doing so much good to the people and protecting the m from anti - social elements that their lives are in danger? When they are able to do without gunmen while not in power, why do they need A-Z type of cover after getting elected? It is high time that the expenditure on such unnecessary security is reduced drastically. There has to be   ‪ Risk Audit   for each of the elected representatives and security provided according to actual threat perception rather than allotting gunmen to every TD and H at the cost of public money. There are s

AAP Win - A Red Letter Day in the history of Independent India

Tuesday, the 10th February 2015 will forever be etched in the history books of Independent India as   ‪ Aam Aadmi Day . The victory of Aam Aadmi Party and ‪ ‎ Arvind Kejriwal ' s team in Delhi Assembly elections today belongs to every Indian frustrated with the way governments ran/run and political leaders treat people in this country, as vote banks and nothing else. Almost all political parties have till now divided people in different possible ways be it vertically or horizontally   or diagonally for the sake of votes and parochial interests. The more humongous the problem, more time it takes to solve it. Fortunately with the entry of leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, evolution of parties like Aam Aadmi and social media, it appears that we can get rid of our problems too soon. What   ‪ Jaya Prakash Narayan   of   ‪ Loksatta Party   couldn't do in  Andhra Pradesh , Arvind did it in Delhi in a short time.   ‪ Congress   which thought that there is no alternative in the co
