Movie Review - Khaidi No.150

This 150th movie of Megastar Chiranjeevi who was away from films for the last 9 1/2 years is a complete mass-cum-class entertainer. Chiranjeevi has proved that he loves movies more than anything else as he looks so young and energetic in the characters he played. One can easily see the hard work he would have put to fit in the roles to entertain his fans. It didn't feel he had such a long gap with the screen. In fact he looked as if he was in his 130th film.
The film has all the Ingredients that a moviegoer(not just fans) would want - comedy, action, sentiment, dances, music, songs, fights( a bit overdone as is usual in most movies) etc. Starting with the item song 'Rathaalu..', all songs are choreographed well with Chiranjeevi performing the dances with ease and elegance. Mega fans could get to see the Ram Charan too shaking his leg along with Chiru in the song 'Ammadu ..cheyddham kummudu'. The comedy scenes mostly involving Chiranjeevi (Kathi Sreenu), Brahmanadam( as Dabur), Ali( as Malli) and Raghubabu (speaking pa as pha) are hilarious to the hilt especially as the dialogues were written and delivered well with topnotch screenplay and background score. Posani and Jayaprakash Reddy too did their bit in the second half to make audience laugh aloud.
Chiranjeevi played the two characters as Kathi Sreenu and Shankar in a wonderful manner. Shankar's character that fights for farmers would remind one of his award winning film Rudraveena.
The fights are overdone as we can expect in any V V Vinayak film( or for that matter in any Indian film) with the hero literally smashing lorries(not one lorry but lorries)loads of goons all alone with a single iron axle in hand. The farmers blocking water pipes to attract attention of the media and the world are too much to believe even by Indian cinema standards but it was pictured neatly without making it appear so.
Heroine #Kajol looked good by his side but her character Lakshmi has nothing much except adding glamour to the screen and she succeeded in doing so. The villain looked impressive as a corporate honcho. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is too good. The dialogues too are a big hit.
Overall it is a good comeback film for Chiranjeevi and truly stands by the tagline 'Boss Is Back'. Mega fans must be the happiest lot to see their boss back as he seems to have lot more fire left in him.
Yes, he is back with a 4 1/2 star.
