Movie Review - Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion

BhaLi BhaLi BhaLi BhaLi Ra BhaLi...... Saaho Re Rajamouli.... What a treat this 170.51 minutes film is to movie lovers across the globe!!! Director S.S.Rajamouli weaved magic with his imagination and resources. This film will come to be known as the 'Kohinoor of Indian Cinema' and will probably be the only movie for which reviews would not matter as people will want to definitely watch it regardless of the reviews. Right from the first frame till the last, audience will be spellbound watching this marvel of a movie, a sequel to Bahubali - The Beginning. No other film caught the imagination of the audience in the recent past as much as Bahubali did with just one curious question "why Kattapa killed Bahubali?" eating into their brains. That one single question did the whole marketing for the film. The screenplay is gripping and carries the audience to a different world through out the show. Vijayendra Prasad must be thrilled to see his story being presented so well b

Two contrasting faces

One face - He is a national level leader. His family is treated as the first family of India. His grandmother fell to the bullets of terrorists and his father died in a dastardly act. His oratory skills are good though not excellent. He is the most criticised, ridiculed, lampooned political personality in  social media . Yet, he goes on like an elephant that doesn't care about dog barks. Neither did he complain nor seek 'other' ways to  throttle the 'social voices'. He still keeps smiling and goes on with his work. Second face - He is the son a regional leader with national stature. He and his father are not able to digest any criticism or ridicule born out of his own faults. He seeks to hide and take protection using undemocratic means and power; and this is just the beginning of his political career gifted to him in a golden plate by his loving father.

Two Democracies - Two Airlines - Two Actions

In just two weeks time people across the globe have witnessed two different scenarios in two different parts of the world both of which are known as largest democracies in the world. While in one instance, Ravindra Gaikwad,  a Shiv Sena MP from Osmanabad in Maharashtra repeatedly hit a 60-year old  Indian Airlines  staffer with his slippers, in the other instance  United A irlines  had forcibly removed and dragged a passenger by name  David Dao  making him bleed in the process. In one case it is the airlines staff who was at the receiving end and in the other case it was passenger(s). Both these incidents smack of arrogance that comes from the top. Whatever be the reasons for their actions, the MP from India and the Airlines in US have done something that is highly condemnable and unpardonable in a civilised society. The MP comes with the mindset of elected representatives in India who think or presume that they are above the law of the land and can get away with anything they do. And

Movie Review - Satamaanambhavati

First things first. This is one of the finest and neat movies that Tollywood has brought out in the last few years. Producer Dil Raju and Director Satish Vegesna deserve all appreciation for bringing out such a wonderful movie. The screenplay is extraordinary.  The story and the plot set in the green and beautiful village backdrop are a visual treat to the audience. Cinematographer Sameer Reddy has done a fabulous job in showcasing the beauty of villages in Godavari districts.  The story is about one Raghavaraju (played by Prakash Raj) and his family. His three children, two sons and a daughter, settle down in three different countries and become so embroiled in their lives that they do not find time to visit their aged parents or home in Atreyapuram in spite of repeated pleas by them. Th eir mother Janakamma (played by Jayasudha) threatens to abandon her husband and go to her children if he did not make them to come home this time during Sankranthi. So Raghavaraju makes a plot and

Movie Review - Gautamiputra Satakarni

Firstly Krish should be appreciated for taking up the tough task of telling the world about Satakarni, the Satavahana ruler. It is not easy to condense a 24 years history into a 135 minutes film. The writer-cum-director's choice of Balakrishna is very apt for the title of this film as only he can do justice to such characters. Krish who is known to choose his artistes well doesn't seem to have been successful in selection of other artistes for the characters. Hema Malini as Gautami and Shriya Saran as Vashishti could not carry the augustness of the characters they represented. Even the characters played by Tanikella Bharani, Sudhakar, Siva Krishna paled in the way they played their roles as messengers to Nahapana(played by Kabir Bedi) and Kalahasteeswara( played by Shiva Rajkumar). Farrah Karimee as Athena is stunning and shined in her role though it was brief.  Coming to the film, it is Bala Krishna who did the tough job of carrying the story impressively till the end as h

Movie Review - Khaidi No.150

This 150th movie of Megastar Chiranjeevi who was away from films for the last 9 1/2 years is a complete mass-cum-class entertainer. Chiranjeevi has proved that he loves movies more than anything else as he looks so young and energetic in the characters he played. One can easily see the hard work he would have put to fit in the roles to entertain his fans. It didn't feel he had such a long gap with the screen. In fact he looked as if he was in his 130th film.  The film has all the Ingredients that a moviegoer(not just fans) would want - comedy, action, sentiment, dances, music, songs, fights( a bit overdone as is usual in most movies) etc. Starting with the item song 'Rathaalu..', all songs are choreographed well with Chiranjeevi performing the dances with ease and elegance. Mega fans could get to see the Ram Charan too shaking his leg along with Chiru in the song 'Ammadu ..cheyddham kummudu'. The comedy scenes mostly involving Chiranjeevi (Kathi Sreenu), Brahmanad
