Sandals and Shoes

Friend A : Hey! Did you hear this about a guy called Sumit Agrawal who sent Rs.364/ to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal asking him to buy shoes!!?? I He is reportedly 'ashamed' that the Delhi CM went to meet French President Francois Hollande at Rashtrapathi Bhawan in sandals and not shoes.
Friend B : Yeah! I read it in the news recently and thought the guy must be a moron to have done like that.
Friend A : Why do you say he is a moron?
Friend B : Just imagine, Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our nation, went around in simple dress of an Indian peasant. Millions of Indians who fought for Independence and walked behind him felt Gandhi was one among them. He went to meet British Emperor George V in London in the same dress in spite of strict dress code and protocol. If a leader is a Gandhian , what is wrong in following Gandhian way of life? Does this moron know that?
Friend A : He may not be aware as he is an 'engineer' and may not know much about the freedom struggle.
Friend B : Okay! If he is not aware of freedom struggle, let us take the case of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. He is working hard to get investments to AP and visiting various countries to meet the 'who is who' of the world. Did he change his dress code while meeting them? Did that prevent him from making an impact? He is still successful, isn't it? He is attracting investments wherever he is going.
Friend A : So, what are you saying?
Friend B : Would this moron have dared to collect funds and send to Chandrababu for buying a suit or blazer saying that he is ashamed to see his CM go around without one? It is not about what you wear or protocol or code. It is about content.
Also is this guy able to see in the city where he lives or elsewhere, the number of children going to school without sandals or shoes? There are many I have seen. If at all, this guy has to be ashamed, he should be ashamed about such cases.
Friend A : I agree.
Friend B : So let him and people like him work on how they can provide sandals/shoes to millions of children without them.
Friend A : I get what you say "Let us not be ashamed if our leaders are wearing sandals but it is shameful if they don't live up to people's expectations or if people feel like hitting them with their sandals". Thank you!
